Collaborate with arts faculty to develop individualized plans for student growth within their chosen pathway.
Support students in portfolio development to showcase their talents, creative potential, and experience for post-graduation opportunities (e.g., exhibitions, performances, competitions).
Wellness and Social-Emotional Coaching
Develop and implement wellness initiatives to support students' emotional, mental, and physical well-being.
Facilitate small group and individual counseling/advisory sessions to address personal challenges, self-esteem, and resilience.
Advocate for a school culture that promotes mindfulness, emotional intelligence, and self-awareness.
Maintain accurate, confidential records of coaching actions and follow-up interventions to support student progress and development as per school policies and regulations.
Attendance and Engagement
Monitor attendance and work proactively with students and families to address barriers to regular school attendance.
Design and implement engagement strategies to motivate students and improve participation in school activities.
Identify at-risk students and collaborate with staff to create intervention plans.
Engage in daily communication (such as calls, emails, text messages, etc.) with students regarding their attendance and engagement, and provide progress updates to families regularly.
Dual Credit/Dual Enrollment Support
Assist students in enrolling in dual credit and dual enrollment programs offered to AIM HIGH students to earn college credits while in high school.
Provide guidance on selecting courses that align with students' academic proficiency, career aspirations, and collegiate goals.
Serve as a liaison between AIM HIGH, partnering colleges, and families to ensure smooth communication and successful program participation.
Support students in balancing high school and college coursework through coaching and time management strategies.
Mentorship and House Leadership Development
Through the school’s House model, serve as a House Leader to students, building trusting relationships and guiding students in fostering culture, teamwork, and accountability within the House.
Facilitate workshops and programs focused on leadership, goal setting, and life skills.
Act as a positive role model and advocate for students, particularly those underrepresented in creative arts and innovation fields.
Discipline and Code of Conduct Enforcement
Monitor and Assess: Regularly review student behavior in relation to the school’s code of conduct, ensuring clear and consistent expectations for all students.
Referral Process: Identify and document behavioral issues, and refer students to the appropriate administrative channels or intervention teams when patterns of concern arise.
Enforce Restorative Practices: Work collaboratively with school leadership to enforce the code of conduct for their caseload, ensuring that disciplinary actions are restorative when possible and supportive of the student’s overall growth. Implement restorative practices that help students understand the impact of their actions and encourage positive behavioral changes.
Documentation: Maintain accurate, confidential records of referrals, disciplinary actions, and follow-up interventions to support student progress and compliance.
