SPED Content Specialist/Coordinator

Education

Special Education Coordination & Compliance

  • Serve as the school’s primary coordinator for special education and 504 services
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and annual review of IEPs and 504 plans in collaboration with families, students, and staff
  • Lead and facilitate IEP meetings, eligibility evaluations, and re-evaluation processes
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education laws and guidelines
  • Collaborate with instructional staff to implement accommodations, modifications, and inclusive practices in virtual and in-person settings
  • Coordinate special education scheduling, service delivery, and caseload assignments
  • Monitor student progress toward IEP goals and provide coaching to staff on data tracking
  • Supervise and support special education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
  • Lead professional development and training related to inclusion, differentiation, and IEP best practices
  • Maintain confidential records and ensure timely submission of required documentation
  • Serve as liaison between the school and families, external agencies, and district/state partners
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure that special education is integrated into all aspects of AIM HIGH’s academic, creative, and wellness programming

 

Content Specialist & Instructional Responsibilities

  • Develop digital learning content, including video lessons, interactive materials, and mastery-based assessments
  • Design and maintain a virtual learning structure that aligns with SC and federal standards
  • Create accessible, culturally relevant, and engaging instructional materials
  • Collaborate with instructional staff, arts specialists, and transformational coaches to align instruction with AIM HIGH’s interdisciplinary model
  • Support data-driven instruction through analysis of student performance
  • Facilitate small group instruction, virtual office hours, or live workshops as needed
  • Monitor student progress in online platforms, provide timely feedback, and support re-engagement
  • Contribute to curriculum mapping, unit development, and long-term planning
  • Maintain compliance with student documentation and communication requirements
  • Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives
